Rugs give a room a feeling of coziness and warmth just the mood you want to create in a bedroom. You have options for where to put a rug in your bedroom, regardless of its size. You may be able to fit more than one rug in one area.
Where to Put a Rug in a Bedroom
·
Under the bed
Placing a grey
rug under the bed is a classic and elegant choice. The traditional and obvious spot for
a rug is under your bed. There's nothing better than slipping into bed and
waking up to the plush feel of a rug beneath your feet. If your bed has a rug
underneath it and a bench at the foot of it, you might want to think about
dragging the rug down so that the bench's four legs can rest on it. If the rug
can barely fit between the bed's two lower legs, that's acceptable.
· At The Foot of Your Bed
Another option is to place a little runner beneath a bench at the foot of
your bed. The ideal place for a somewhat shorter runner, such as a
four-by-two-foot runner, is at the foot of your bed. Simply check that it is
wide enough to accommodate the bench that sits at the foot of your bed.
·
On The Sides of Your Bed
A long, narrow rug, such as an antique Persian runner or sheepskin rug,
is ideally placed down the side of your bed. Either arrange one on either side of
the side you typically get into bed.
For the most part, runners should fit perfectly in bedrooms as they are
typically two to three feet wide. Choose one that is nearly the length of your
bed in terms of length. Ideally, a runner that is five or six feet long will
work.
·
Under Your Dresser
A charming scene can be created in your bedroom by tucking a small rug
below a stand-alone dresser. If you are placing a wood dresser on top of wood
floors and the varied wood tones seem bad next to each other, this is a very
smart design solution.
We advise selecting a rug large enough to accommodate your entire
dresser. The size of your dresser will determine the exact size. As an
alternative, you may select a tiny rug so that the space between the edge of
your dresser and the rug is two to three inches above the floor.
·
Near Entrances and Exits
When deciding where to put runners, think about the routes you usually
take on foot through your space. For instance, install a vertical runner
heading into the bathroom if your bedroom is equipped with a primary bath
suite.
The precise arrangement of your bedroom will determine the ideal size for
the runner. But rather than erring on the side of too long, it's preferable to
err on the side of too short.
·
Under A Seating Area
You should enjoy the luxury of having a seating area in your bedroom. One
way to provide the impression of a room inside a room is to place a different
area rug underneath the seating area alone. An extra-large area rug that covers
the majority of the space is another option. As long as the rug doesn't extend
to the baseboards, it should work well for your bed and seating area. To
prevent the rug from taking over the entire space, leave at least one foot of
space on either side.
