This type of remover will work on any kind of paint stain. You can also use household paint remover in case you can’t find any remover from the store. For e.g minerals, the spirit is best for oil-based paints, and acetone and rubbing alcohol are best for water-based paints.

1)      Remove Excess Paint

The first thing you need to do is to remove the excess paint whether it is wet latex paint or acrylic oil paint. If it’s fresh paint:

·         Use a rag, dry towel, or thick paper towel to remove the excess paint. Blot the spot gently so you soak up the paint instead of spreading it around.

·         Avoid scrubbing. Scrubbing can spread the paint more deeply into the fibers and make the stain even worse.

·         Don’t let the spot dry. Put a damp cloth or paper towel over the spot to keep it moist.

If it’s dry paint:

·         Remove as much paint with the scrapper

·         Then vacuum the spot to pick up any waste

2)  Apply Water

Now the next step is to put cold water on the softened paint spot. But make sure not to soak the carpet, especially if you are pouring directly into it. Then, gently blot the carpet fibers do not be harsh while you blotting your fibers as there is a higher chance of your fiber getting damaged. After blotting once repeat with a dry cloth or a paper towel, or you can use a wet-dry vacuum to remove excess liquid.

3)      Use Liquid Dishwashing Detergent

Water-based paint can be easily removed with a homemade cleaning solution. You can make your carpet cleaning solution by adding half a teaspoon of liquid dish soap to 1 cup of warm water. Dip a white cloth or paper towel in dishwashing detergent, or you can use a spray bottle to apply the dishwashing liquid. Then blot the paint stain with a soft cloth. Then rinse the spot with clean water and blot it dry with paper towels or a clean cloth. Finally, let the spot dry out and then run the vacuum over it to remove any excess waste.

4)Prepare And Choose Your Solvent

Before you use any type of solvent make sure that your carpet is completely dry. So, if you use water or detergent solution, make sure the carpet completely dries out. If you don’t let your carpet dry putting the water in the carpet fibers can block the dry solvent from doing its job. Therefore, make sure the carpet is completely dry. When you are ready to try different solvents, make a water barrier to keep the stain from spreading when you add the solvent. There are many other different solvents that you can try but the common ones are acetone, rubbing alcohol, and paint oil grease remover.

5)Use Your Solvent

Once you have chosen your solvent you are ready to go. Dampen a white cloth, dab some solvent on it, and then blot the paint stain. Let the solvent sit on the fiber for 15 minutes and then a bit more solvent.

6) Rinse The Solvent And Let It Dry

Make sure you always rinse the solvent out of the carpet after use. When you rinse follow the instructions on the solvent water. Be careful to fully rinse out the solvent. This can sometimes take time to rinse for 5 to 10 mins to loosen and remove the product. If the carpet still feels oily after that rinse again. You can clean the affected area with a soap and water solution. After you rinse, let the spot dry. And if the carpet texture is off, run the vacuum over it.
